Privacy notice

VODS Fire is the responsible party for personal information collected on this site. This notice is written for the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

What we collect

Contact name, email, phone, company, site address, building details, answers about storage and equipment, optional photos, and a fire plan or layout if you upload one. If you register as a technician, or your company registers you, we also keep your company, town, specialty, rates, SAQCC registration number, levels, SAQCC card and the signature image tied to that number. If you invite a company, we keep the company name, contact person and email you gave. Account passwords are stored only as a hash.

Why

To score a site against our rule base, to email you the compliance report, to prepare fire plan recommendations when you upload a layout, to track service dates, and to help you find a registered provider when you ask for one. We do not sell personal information.

How long

Assessment records and photos are kept so a report can be verified and an audit trail remains. Ask us to delete a record and we will, unless we have to keep it for a legal or insurance reason. Data is hosted in South Africa.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction or deletion, and you can object to processing, by emailing info@vodsfire.co.za or calling 073 312 0268. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Consent

The compliance check asks you to consent before anything is saved. You can still request a technician visit without completing a check, once you have an account.
